ALIOSN HULLYER - PAINTER & PRINTMAKER
I graduated in 1990 with a degree in Graphic Design from Northumbria University. I now live in a village just outside Cambridge, working as a professional artist from my garden studio.
I love to observe the changing seasons and often depicts trees, seed heads and birds in my work. Also, beach scenes and smooth pebbles are a firm favourite. The patterns in the Fen landscape and recent travels to Scotland and Andalusia have also been a source for inspiration.
I use a variety of printmaking techniques such as relief, drypoint and collograph. I use materials such as rubber, cardboard and plastic sheeting, adding glue and carborundum to my more textured printing plates. I often hand-colour the prints using watercolour after printing. More recently I have been working on a new series of oil paintings on square wooden panels.
I also have my own range of cards and screen-printed tea towels.
